Stelios: I'm no Greek god
Stelios Giannakopolous insists that he is not stuck on cloud nine.
Stelios Giannakopolous has insisted that he has not been struggling to readjust following Greece's shock Euro 2004 victory this summer. The Greece international winger was accused by Bolton Wanderers manager Sam Allardyce of believing himself to be a 'Greek God,' but Giannakopolous insists that this is far from the truth.
"I am not like a little kid that has had his first taste of success and I'm flying around with my head in the clouds," insisted the Bolton star.
"In Greece, I had many title wins with Olympiakos and I know what it means to win something.
"I also know that despite winning a trophy, you have to come back and work even harder to prove you are a good player.
"The more success you have, the more people watch you and it is important to keep a good standard.
"The manager may have said something to the press, but he didn't say anything to me.
"If it was a real problem, I'm sure he would have spoken to me."
