Atletico tie up Velasco deal

Atletico Madrid have completed the protracted signing of Juan Velasco.

The full back has finally inked a three-year deal with the capital club after weeks of negotiations between the clubs.

Celta have been forced to part company with several of their top players following relegation from La Primera last term, but have been determined not to see players depart on the cheap.

They finally concurred on a deal with Atletico earlier in the week although no fee for the transfer has been disclosed by the clubs.

Velasco spoke of his delight at clinching a return to La Primera with Los Rojiblancos.

"The negotiations have been very hard," the 27-year-old stated.

"But I am very satisfied to have come to a great club, to whom I am going to give everything to try and take the team as high as possible."
