Middlesbrough have been boosted by the news that injury victims Malcolm Christie, Andrew Davies and Michael Reiziger are all on the comeback trail.Both Christie and Davies suffered broken legs last season, and the former also suffered hernia and nerve problems.
Christie has now been given the all-clear to step up his training and he could return to reserve team action within the next month.
Davies, like Christie, is looking to make a competitive return within four weeks.
Meanwhile, Dutch star Reiziger is recovering after under going an operation on his shoulder.
The former Barcelona star sustained the injury in pre-season against Hansa Rostock and attempted to carry on without any medical assistance.
However, he agitated during the defeat at Arsenal and has now had an operation in Switzerland which will sideline him for at least six weeks.
