Hatters to keep Vine
Luton Town have extended the loan of striker Rowan Vine for the rest of the season.
Luton Town manager Mike Newell has revealed that the League One leaders have extended the loan of striker Rowan Vine for the rest of the season. The 21-year-old initially joined The Hatters on a three-month deal from Premiership side Portsmouth last month.
Despite signing a two-year contract extension with Pompey back in March, Vine has made the most of first team action at Kenilworth Road by helping the Bedfordshire side to an undefeated start.
Vine, who has spent the last two seasons on loan with Brentford and Colchester United, will again spend another campaign in League One with Luton.
Following the club's 0-0 away draw at Sheffield Wednesday, Newell expressed his delight at keeping Vine for the entire season.
"We've managed to secure him until the end of the year," Newell told the club's official website.
"He has worked his socks off and he has shown us that he's got ability.
"It is good for us and it is good for him because it gives him somewhere to play his football."
