The Argentine international returned to training with the Italian giants after international duty.

The 22-year-old has spent the last four seasons on loan at San Lorenzo, Alaves, Atletico Madrid and Villarreal.

Coloccini is delighted to be back at Milan and he feels he is ready to stake a claim for a place in Carlo Ancelotti's side.

"I've had a really beautiful year, that's why I wanted to come back," Coloccini told the club's official website.

"Now I've had the experience I feel ready.

"Milan wanted me to gain experience then to return, and it really went well.

"Now I'm here I wish to make good things with this jersey.

"Playing in La Liga has been beautiful, but the time was right to come back to Milan."
