Clark's retirement fear

Lee Clark has admitted that he may have to consider retirement in the near future.

Fulham midfielder Lee Clark has admitted that the thought of retirement is something he may have to consider in the near future.

The former Newcastle man has been out for almost a year after repeatedly breaking down in training.

Clark's calf injury is still causing him concern and he admits retirement may have to be considered if he fails to return to the team in the near future.

"People can talk about injured players hanging up their boots a bit too easily these days," said Clark.

"But in my case, I am in my ninth month of not playing."

Despite fearing he may have to quit, the 32-year-old says he will not give up hope.

"It's the most frustrating thing in the world, but I'm not going to give up without a fight," he added.
