Mexes delighted with ruling

Philippe Mexes is delighted he has been cleared to play for Roma. The French defender has been the subject of a bitter argument between his new Italian side and former club Auxerre.
The French outfit claim that Roma signed him illegally and took their case to Fifa, who banned Mexes for six weeks having found he signed for Roma while still contracted to Auxerre.
The Italian side have taken their case to the Court of Arbitration for Sport, who have now suspended the ban after Mexes appealed.
It all means that the French stopper can take his place in Rudi Voller's side for the visit of Fiorentina on Sunday.
Although he could still be banned in the future, Mexes is delighted with the result.
"Finally I know I can play, I was waiting for this news for a long time," Mexes told Corriere dello Sport.
"I'm really happy about this decision. Because I can immediately be at Roma's disposal and because it's a decision that shows how I've behaved correctly.
"Despite some people saying I had to come back to Auxerre, instead it isn't so. I'm a Roma player and I'm happy to be so.
"I've chosen Roma because I know here I could grow, and I'm really happy to play immediately.
"I want to give all I can to Roma, although I know that the difficult things are ahead."
