Colombia recall for Angel

Aston Villa striker Juan Pablo Angel has been recalled by Colombia.

Aston Villa striker Juan Pablo Angel has been recalled by Colombia for next month's 2006 World Cup qualifiers.

Angel is back in the Colombia squad for October's double-header against Paraguay and Brazil after recovering from a knee injury.

The forward has been working towards full fitness after being hampered by the knee problem during the summer months.

Though he is now carrying a minor hand injury, Angel is one of six European-based players named in the squad by coach Reinaldo Rueda.

Colombia entertain Paraguay on October 9 before travelling to World Cup holders Brazil on October 13.
