Inter snub affects Kompany

Internazionale look set for a battle if they try to sign Vincent Kompany in January.

Internazionale look set for a battle if they try to sign Vincent Kompany in January - with Anderlecht still annoyed with the Milan club.

Anderlecht are still smarting with Inter after the Italian side were less than forthcoming about a projected partnership between the two clubs that would precipitate loan deals.

This could well impact on a move for Kompany - who has been linked with the nerazzurri for some time.

"We came to Italy four times and they did not respect their promises," said Anderlecht general manager Herman van Holsbeek.

"We have closed the partnership because I want to work with people who are clear - and this is not the case with Inter.

"They want Kompany in January? They can make an enquiry but he isn't on sale."

Anderlecht are believed to want in the region of ‚é¼20 million, but Inter have no intention of paying such a fee.

Kompany has confessed that he would consider a move in January - but is not writing off a move to Spain or England.

"I'd like to end school, but I'm in my last year and a January transfer seems a possibility," said Kompany.

"The idea of going to Italy doesn't frighten me, but I also like the English and Spanish leagues."
