Latics keeper retires

Oldham Athletic goalkeeper Chris Grange has been forced to retire from football.

Oldham Athletic goalkeeper Chris Grange has been forced to retire from football.

The 19-year-old failed to recover from a broken left leg he sustained in a training ground accident back in January.

Grange broke the leg just above the ankle after he tried to push off to make a save.

Despite healing from the injury, Grange has been given medical advice that his left leg is in no shape for the demands of professional football.

It means that Grange's youth scholarship has now been terminated with Brian Talbot's side and the player will move on to pastures new.
