Roma refute Cassano bust-up

Antonio Cassano was the protagonist of another unsavoury incident.

Roma have moved to dismiss reports that under-fire striker Antonio Cassano was involved in another unsavoury incident during a friendly game.

Cassano, 22, who was omitted from Marcello Lippi's Italian squad for their upcoming World Cup qualifiers, has been at the centre of much controversy this season

The forward, who was playing for Roma in a friendly against amateur side Tivoli allegedly walked off the pitch midway through the second half.

Following the game rumours began to surface that Cassano may have quarrelled with a Giallorossi youth team player or that he was reacting to his team-mates' failure to provide him with quality passes in the game.

However, Roma coach Luigi Delneri has refuted these suggestions claiming that Cassano left the pitch because he had agreed that he would be substituted.

In recent days Cassano has been the subject of transfer rumours, with both Juventus and Milan apparently keen on signing the enigmatic youngster.

It is thought that a move away from Roma may be a solution to the talented striker's troubles, but any potential suitor would seek assurances from Cassano that he is prepared to change his attitude towards the game.
