Atletico admit Dutch fancy
Atletico Madrid have confirmed their interest in Romeo Castelen and Dirk Kuyt.
EXCLUSIVEAtletico Madrid director of sport Toni Munoz has confirmed his interest in Dutch international duo Romeo Castelen and Dirk Kuyt.
Munoz watched the pair in action in Holland's 3-1 win over Finland in which Kuyt played the full 90 minutes and Castelen came off the bench for the final quarter of an hour.
The Atletico chief conceded he was a big fan of both Kuyt and Castelen and had received glowing reports on the players.
"I have not spoken to Feyenoord about Castelen and Kuyt, but of course I liked them on the pitch," he told skysports.com.
"We already have good reports on them."
However, Munoz refused to acknowledge he had attended the game specifically to watch the Feyenoord players, insisting it was part of his brief to scout players throughout Europe.
"But it is the job of a sporting director to go and watch new players who are on the market and in this game (Holland - Finland) there was a lot of potential for good players," he continued.
"The decision of signings for the winter transfer window will be made between all the technical staff, but it is logical that if we can improve what we have and the price is right, we will take that chance.
"However, this is not a rich club and we have to watch every euro."
