Lawrence pens new Bees deal

Brentford midfielder Jamie Lawrence has signed a new contract at Griffin Park.

Brentford midfielder Jamie Lawrence has signed a new deal with the South West London club.

The former Bradford City and Walsall player initially signed a month-long contract with The Bees late last month.

The Jamaican international has now put pen-to-paper on a contract that keeps him at Griffin Park until January 27, 2005.

Manager Martin Allen was pleased to offer the 34-year-old a fresh deal after being impressed with the player's performances.

"He's done very well in the past couple of weeks," Allen told the club's official website.

"He's been a credit to himself at the training ground and I'm delighted he's going to be joining us until January, when his position will be reviewed."
