Pires fuming with Domenech
Robert Pires was left fuming by Raymond Domenech's decision to substitute him.
Arsenal's Robert Pires was left fuming by coach Raymond Domenech's decision to substitute him in France's recent clash against Cyprus.Les Bleus have suffered indifferent form under Domenech, who replaced Jacques Santini following the country's disappointing Euro 2004 campaign.
Pires is unhappy with Domenech as his coaching style annoys him and that in turn leads to The Gunners star giving as good as he gets.
"If the match had taken place at the Stade de France I would not have stayed," explained Pires to France Football. "I would have walked out, vexed, annoyed, anything you want.
"When the coach said 'Daniel (Moreira), you are replacing Robert' I could not believe it. It's the first time in my career I have experienced something like this.
"It's like being at school, being 20 and just starting out as a footballer. We need Domenech to give us freedom because he gets on our nerves with his attitude, his words, his remarks.
"There is turbulence between him and myself. He annoys me. In return, I suppose I annoy him."
