Cassano left out by Roma
Roma's Antonio Cassano has been left out the Bayer Leverkusen clash.
Troubled striker Antonio Cassano has been left out of Roma's squad for the Champions League clash with Bayer Leverkusen.The Italian international has been omitted from the squad amidst reports of a bust-up with coach Luigi Delneri.
Reports over the weekend claimed Cassano has a massive bust-up with Delneri during half time of the win over Cagliari.
Delneri refused to comment on why Cassano was left out of the squad.
"I'm not interested talking about Cassano. Cassano isn't useful and he remains at home," said Delneri.
"We play with two forwards. Totti and Montella are Roma's forwards now.
"I have to explain why? One scored eight goals, the other six.
"I'm a coach not an official. Not calling up Cassano is my right."
The latest incident is sure to increase doubts about Cassano's long-term future at Roma with reports claiming he will be sold as soon as possible.
