Baros: Cisse union will work

Liverpool striker Milan Baros is confident his partnership with Djibril Cisse will work.

Liverpool striker Milan Baros is confident his partnership with Djibril Cisse will eventually bear fruit.

Reds boss Rafa Benitez defended the duo earlier in the week, amid claims Baros and Cisse cannot work in tandem effectively.

In eight matches when Baros and Cisse have started this season, only once have they both been on the scoresheet.

Summer signing Cisse is still finding his feet at Anfield while Baros has only sporadically shown the form which made him top scorer at Euro 2004.

But the Czech Republic ace has played down fears that he will be unable to forge a successful union with his French colleague.

Baros is optimistic that, providing they keep working on the partnership, the goals will eventually flow.

"We are working on the partnership in training," said Baros. "And every day it's getting better.

"We know it's not as good as it could be at the moment but I'm confident we'll come good.

"It's normal that two players who have never played together before will take time to get used to a partnership."
