Pompey's Kamara worry

Portsmouth are anxiously awaiting test results taken on Diomansy Kamara's knee.

Portsmouth are anxiously awaiting test results taken on Diomansy Kamara's knee.

The in-form midfielder was forced off after 30 minutes of Saturday's 2-0 win over Manchester United, having been caught in a tackle by Red Devils midfielder Paul Scholes.

Kamara reported discomfort in the joint to the club's medical team and was sent for a scan.

Pompey boss Harry Redknapp is hoping the injury to his 22-year-old midfielder is nothing more than superficial damage.

"We are keeping our fingers crossed it is not serious," said the Pompey chief. "But it looks a nasty one."

Kamara was joined in the Fratton Park treatment room by Patrik Berger, who picked up a calf strain in the same game and is expected to be sidelined for around 10 days - ruling him out of the weekend clash with Aston Villa.
