Ancelotti defends Crespo

Milan boss Carlo Ancelotti has refused to criticise on-loan Hernan Crespo for his lack of goals since arriving from Chelsea.Crespo's failure to spark on his return to Italy has attracted criticism from the press, with injuries to Andrei Shevchenko and Filippo Inzaghi compounding the problem.
However, coach Ancelotti believes that a first goal will alleviate the pressure on the Argentine and allow him to get back to his best.
"He's just lacking a goal," said Ancelotti.
"He's improving day by day and it's obvious that he is not yet the striker we remember.
"But he is useful to the team and the goal will arrive."
Crespo himself believes that he is being unfairly blamed for the team's failures.
"I don't want to be the scapegoat of this situation," said Crespo.
"It's not my fault that Milan didn't win against Barcelona and Roma.
"You can bet on me. I'm close to a full recovery and if I had scored in Genoa against Sampdoria you would be talking to another player.
"I need tranquillity because I have two motivations; First the wish to stay here permanently and secondly the need to score as soon as possible."
