Beckett set for Hull

Hull City are set to sign striker Luke Beckett from Stockport County.

Hull City are set to sign striker Luke Beckett from League One rivals Stockport County.

The Tigers were reportedly interested in landing the former Chester City and Chesterfield hit-man and the club have agreed an initial fee of £75,000 with Stockport for the 27-year-old.

Beckett is due to have a medical on Friday at The Kingston Communications Stadium before putting pen to paper on two-and-a-half year contract with the Humberside outfit.

His move away from Stockport comes after Beckett turned down the offer of a new two-year contract with The Hatters earlier in the month.

Stockport rejected a bid from League Two side Mansfield Town for the striker, but have agreed to sell Beckett to Hull, as the player is due to be out of contract at the end of the season.
