Liverpool target Valeri Bojinov seems set to stay at Lecce until the end of the season at least. The Bulgarian starlet was believed to be on Liverpool's wanted list as they search for a new striker to replace the injured Djibril Cisse.
The Reds are almost certain to enter the transfer market for a new striker when the transfer window reopens and Bojinov is one of several names that have been mentioned as possible targets.
Bojinov has been in tremendous form this season and is among the top scorers in Serie A.
The 18-year-old is regarded as one of the most exciting talents in Europe and he has attracted interest from the likes of Arsenal, Barcelona, Internazionale and Milan in the past.
Lecce face a fight to keep hold of Bojinov but the player's agent Jerry Palomba ruled out any move in January.
"The winter is too close to arrange any deal for Valeri," Palomba told Bulgarian radio station Sport.
"At the moment the far more important thing than a possible transfer is to maintain his fantastic form.
"For an eventual transfer we could talk when the summer time comes as I expect that his price will rise very much.
"There is a very realistic interest in him from clubs in Italy and Spain."
