Guily calls for discretion

Ludovic Giuly belives recent disagreements in the French camp could have been avoided.

Barcelona playmaker Ludovic Giuly believes France coach Raymond Domenech and Robert Pires should have kept their disagreement private.

The pair have clashed in recent weeks over Domenech's decision to substitute the Arsenal favourite in a recent international.

With France struggling for form and morale not at its strongest, Giuly believes discretion should have been the order of the day.

''It is a shame when they have to talk it becomes public through the press,'' conceded Giuly.

''I found it strange from Robert, as we know his discreet character.

''If he talked that way, he probably has good reason.

''Robert is old enough and Domenech too. But since the start, there has been trouble.

''At certain times you have to calm down the situation - talk between four eyes - as adults.

''So then, they could go back to work.''
