Clubs settle Taylor dispute

Blackpool have ended their dispute with Sheffield Wednesday regarding Scott Taylor.

Blackpool have settled their dispute over an alleged illegal approach for their striker Scott Taylor with League One rivals Sheffield Wednesday.

The Seasiders had lodged an official complaint with The Football League, claiming The Owls were trying to lure their goalscorer (pictured) to Hillsborough earlier in the season.

However, talks between the two clubs have prompted the Bloomfield Road outfit to call off their complaint, which was due to be heard by the League's disciplinary commission next week.

Wednesday have issued an apology to Blackpool for the matter and in a joint statement, both clubs have insisted the affair is now at an end.

"Sheffield Wednesday are pleased to report that Blackpool FC have withdrawn their complaint against the club in relation to an alleged illegal approach for Scott Taylor," the joint statement read.

"Following discussions between the clubs and an apology by Sheffield Wednesday, the matter is closed and neither club will make any further comment."

Meanwhile, Blackpool have included former player Jamie Milligan in their reserves for Wednesday's match with their counterparts from Carlisle United.

The 24-year-old has been training with Colin Hendry's side after recovering from a serious knee ligament injury that he suffered playing for non-league side Hyde United.
