Ajax eye Kanu

West Brom striker Nwankwo Kanu is being tipped to make a return to former club Ajax.

West Brom striker Nwankwo Kanu is being tipped to make a return to former club Ajax in January.

The Dutch giants are still looking to replace Zlatan Ibrahimovic who joined Juventus in the summer.

Borussia Dortmund's Jan Koller was the primary target for Ajax, but he now looks set to remain in Germany.

Kanu has been linked with a move away from West Brom, following Gary Megson's departure.

New Baggies boss Bryan Robson has already stated his desire to keep Kanu - who may be tempted by a move back to Holland.

Ajax posted scouts at The Hawthorns on Sunday to watch him against Middlesbrough - although they are unlikely to have been impressed by his embarrassing miss in the final minute.

Young Swede Marcus Rosenberg has also been linked with a move to The Amsterdam ArenA, and with Wesley Sonck's future looking uncertain - more than one striker could very well move to Ajax in January when the transfer window opens.
