Dario Simic has come through heel surgery in Finland - but has been told he will need three months to recuperate.The Croatia international has been struggling for a place in the Milan side over the past 12 months, with Cafu keeping him out of the starting XI.
Simic has been struggling with this injury since Euro 2004, and finally decided to go under the surgeon's knife to correct the problem.
Simic joined Milan from Internazionale and was a member of the team that won the UEFA Champions League title in 2003.
It had been suggested that the defender could be set to leave the club in January, but the 29-year-old will now stay until the summer.
