Davids in Barca hint

Edgar Davids has admitted he would relish the chance to return to Barcelona.

Dutch midfielder Edgar Davids has admitted he would relish the chance to return to Barcelona.

Davids made a huge impression at Camp Nou last term when he joined on a six-month loan deal from Juventus during the January transfer window.

He helped revitalise the Catalans' fortunes, leading them to a second-place finish in La Liga.

He then had the opportunity to join Barca on a permanent basis, but ultimately opted to join Internazionale.

However, Davids has found himself only a bit-part player at Inter under Roberto Mancini, and has hinted he is ready to move on to secure regular action.

A return to Barca has been mooted, even though it was claimed the Catalans were not keen on the player after his decision to snub them last summer.

Davids insists, though, that he was obliged to move to Inter as part of an agreement between the club and Juventus, and would jump at the chance of a return to Camp Nou.

"In six months at Barcelona I learnt more than during four years in Italy," he told Gazzetta dello Sport.

"I was sorry to leave, but it was a forced choice, bound to a business deal.

"But in life there come moments in which you have to make choices, and I made them.

"Moving back to Barcelona? It could happen."

One obstacle to any move would be Uefa's rule that no player can be the subject of more than one transfer in a 12-month period.
