Allback hits out at O'Leary

Marcus Allback hopes David O'Leary is regretting his decision to sell him.

Marcus Allback is hoping that Aston Villa boss David O'Leary is regretting his decision to force him out of the club, after his impressive performance against Scotland for Sweden.

The striker grabbed a fine brace in Sweden's convincing 4-1 victory over Scotland at Easter Road, and believes he has shown O'Leary that he was wrong to sell him to Hansa Rostock.

"I'm glad I put in a good performance on British soil," Allback told Viasat Sport.

"I don't want the coach at Aston Villa to feel good about offloading me."

The former Villan moved on to a fine tally of 23 goals in 47 games for Sweden with his double and increased his chance of retaining his position despite stiff competition from the likes of Henrik Larsson and Zlatan Ibrahimovic.

"It worked well today," added Allback. "You might not be used to seeing us play that offensively.

"There was some great wing play, and Christian Wilhelmsson was terrific.

"We have got two world stars that are not here but I will try to give Zlatan and Henke (Larsson) a fight."
