Forbes cleared of all charges

Grimsby Town defender Terrell Forbes has been cleared of all charges.

Grimsby Town defender Terrell Forbes has been cleared of all charges at Kingston Crown Court.

The former Queens Park Rangers player was one of six men accused of rape and sexual assault offences against a 15-year-old girl.

The prosecution's case collapsed less than two weeks into the planned four-week trial as Judge Michael Hucker instructed the jury to deliver not guilty verdicts.

Forbes yelled: "I'm a free man now" outside the court as he will now concentrate on furthering his footballing career.

"I have been found not guilty on these serious charges," said the 23-year-old through his solicitor Adam Mir.

"The Judge took the unusual step of throwing out the case against me at an early stage.

"The last nine months has been hell for me and my family but I want to thank everyone who has supported me throughout.

"My reputation has been attacked throughout the last few months.

"I wish for all to respect my vindicated character and reputation.

"The result allows me to continue playing football, which is all I ever wanted to do."
