Jol upbeat for Boro game

Martin Jol is confident Tottenham can end their abysmal recent form against Boro.

Martin Jol is confident Tottenham Hotspur can end their abysmal recent form against Middlesbrough in The Premiership on Sunday.

Spurs have lost their last six league matches and entertain the Carling Cup holders at the weekend, following Boro's European exertions in the Uefa Cup.

Jol is aware of the quality Boro will bring to White Hart Lane and has pinpointed compatriots Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink and Boudewijn Zenden as the danger men.

But he feels Spurs are equipped to combat that threat and is expecting a turnaround in recent results this weekend.

"Middlesbrough is a difficult game but after Arsenal, where we scored four goals and after Villa, I'm confident," affirmed Jol.

"I know Zenden and Hasselbaink are big players for Middlesbrough.

"Zenden has more than 50 caps for Holland but he's still only young while Hasselbaink is another international and top scorer wherever he's played - Spain, England and Portugal.

"They are internationals, big players but we have big players as well and we have to focus on our strengths.

"We have Ledley King so hopefully he can keep Hasselbaink quiet."
