Richards blow for Town

Northampton Town have lost striker Marc Richards for three months.

The former Cambridge United striker ruptured a medial knee ligament against Chester last week.

"It's obviously a huge blow for us and for Marc," said Cobblers boss Colin Calderwood.

"The scans suggest that he has ruptured a medial ligament and it may well require an operation.

"We will take the advice of the surgeon as to whether or not the knee is operated on, but whether he is operated on or not it is likely to be around three months before Marc is back in action.

"Obviously we will do all we can to help Marc get back in action as soon as possible.

"He has got a terrific attitude and he worked very hard to get over his first injury. What has happened is a blow to him and us, and it is very frustrating."
