Victory eye Muscat

Melbourne Victory are hoping Kevin Muscat finishes his playing career with them.

The Australian defender recently stated he wanted to end his playing days back home and the A-League are keen to secure his services.

Melbourne's head of operations Gary Cole has revealed the club are hoping to make contact with the player with a view to agreeing a deal.

"We will make contact," said Cole.

"He's got a nice bit of mongrel in him which would ensure those around him don't accept defeat too easily."

Muscat currently has over a year left on his deal with The Lions and Victory would need to pay a fee should they want to bring him in before his contract expires.
