Blake hands Clarets win
Robbie Blake was the hero for Burnley in a 1-0 win at home to Millwall.
Robbie Blake was once more the hero for Burnley, as they picked up yet another 1-0 win at home to Millwall. The Clarets have once more found the defensive qualities that made them so hard to break down in the opening stages of this season, and with Blake they always have a chance of snatching a winner.
His winner against The Lions came from a controversial 61st minute penalty, after the visitors had wasted a host of chances to take the lead.
Scott Dobie has yet to score for Millwall since signing from West Brom, and he saw shots blocked by Frank Sinclair and Gary Cahill and another cleared by keeper Brian Jensen.
At the other end James O'Connor diverted a header narrowly wide, and Graham Branch saw a couple of efforts drift wide.
The breakthrough came when Kevin Muscat was adjudged to have handled O'Connor's cut-back, and Blake made no mistake from the resultant spot kick.
Burnley move up into eighth with the victory, leapfrogging Millwall who slip into ninth.
