Broken leg for Owl
Sheffield Wednesday striker Adam Proudlock is out with a broken leg.
Sheffield Wednesday have been dealt a blow by the news that striker Adam Proudlock has broken his leg.The former Wolves hit-man, who scored a brace in Saturday's 4-1 thrashing of Bristol City at Ashton Gate, sustained a broken fibula and possible ankle ligament damage in training this week.
Proudlock has initially been ruled out of action for up to six weeks - pending a visit to a specialist to further assess the leg damage.
With midfielder Lewis McMahon currently sidelined with a knee injury, it leaves Owls boss Paul Sturrock currently short in the attack department.
"Everyone is gutted for the lad," Sturrock told the club's official website.
"Things were going well for us but this is a massive blow, especially with Lewis McMahon also out for three to four weeks."
One consolation for the Hillsborough club is that fellow striker Lee Peacock has returned to training after a long absence following an ankle operation.
