Diouf charged by FA

Bolton Wanderers striker El Hadji Diouf has been charged with improper conduct.

Bolton Wanderers striker El Hadji Diouf has been charged with improper conduct by The Football Association.

The on-loan Liverpool man spat at Portsmouth's Arjan De Zeeuw during the second half of their 1-0 home defeat at The Reebok.

The 23-year-old has until Tuesday evening to answer the charge and the case is to be reviewed by a disciplinary commission on December 2.

De Zeeuw, to his credit, did not react during the game, but accused the Senegal striker after the clash - prompting action by The FA.

Diouf had been back to near his best in recent weeks but could now face further punishment after having already been fined by Bolton.
