Inamoto in Japan call

Junichi Inamoto has been included in Japan's squad to face Germany in a friendly.

West Brom midfielder Junichi Inamoto could make his first appearance in over six months after being included in Japan's squad to face Germany.

Inamoto has not played a competitive fixture since he broke his leg while playing for Japan in a friendly against England in June.

He later signed for West Brom but has yet to make his debut for The Premiership's bottom club.

The 25-year-old is close to a comeback and has been named in the squad for Japan's clash with Germany on December 16.

Japan coach Zico is confident that Inamoto will be ready to figure at some point against Germany and feels the friendly will be a good opportunity for the former Fulham man.

"Inamoto is in good physical shape and I have complete faith he can do the job," said Zico.

"It's not a World Cup qualifier we must win. It's a friendly so it's a good chance for him."

Zico has selected a 23-man squad for the match against Germany, with Inamoto joined by fellow European-based players Yoshikatsu Kawaguchi and Naohiro Takahara.

Squad:
Yoichi Doi (FC Tokyo), Yoshikatsu Kawaguchi (Nordsjaelland), Seigo Narazaki (Nagoya Grampus Eight); Atsuhiro Miura (Tokyo Verdy), Makoto Tanaka, Norihiro Nishi (Jubilo Iwata), Takayuki Chano (JEF United Ichihara), Tsuneyasu Miyamoto (Gamba Osaka), Naoki Matsuda, Yuji Nakazawa (Yokohama Marinos), Alex (Urawa Reds), Akira Kaji (FC Tokyo); Toshiya Fujita, Takashi Fukunishi (Jubilo Iwata), Mitsuo Ogasawara, Masashi Motoyama, Koji Nakata (Kashima Antlers), Junichi Inamoto (West Brom), Yasuhito Endo (Gamba Osaka); Takayuki Suzuki (Kashima Antlers), Yoshito Okubo (Cerezo Osaka), Naohiro Takahara (Hamburg), Keiji Tamada (Kashiway Reysol).
