Ipswich Town defender Scott Barron has been sidelined for two months.

Ipswich Town defender Scott Barron has been sidelined for two months.

The 19-year-old, who made his first team debut in August, has been struggling with a groin injury and has now undergone surgery.

"Scott has had the operation and we expect him to be out of action for between six to eight weeks," Town physio Dave Williams told the club's website.

"He's had problems with the injury since September and has had various rest periods to try and clear it up.

"He returned to training a few weeks ago but was still complaining of pain so after scans and seeing a specialist, it was decided that surgery was the next step."

Meanwhile, another Town youngster Gerard Nash - has returned to training after a medial ligament injury.
