TYLER'S SUPER SUNDAY STAT - A Kiely unlikely win
Dennis Rommedahl's winner three seconds from time on Sunday secured only Charlton Athletic's second win in almost 70 years as an away team at Selhurst Park - where they spent six years as tenants of course. Both have come courtesy of 1-0 wins with Paul Kitson's goal on March 25, 2000, securing the other victory over their south London rivals. Dean Kiely, who, of course, saved Andy Johnson's penalty, kept clean sheets on both occasions.

STUCK IN THE MIDDLE WITH SPURS
Can you settle a dispute between me and a friend. He thinks Spurs are the only team to have played in the Premiership and not finished in the top six, or the bottom six. I think he is lying!
T Stone, Kent
MARTIN SAYS:
Spurs can claim to be the only side who have played in every Premiership season and not finished in the bottom or top six, so in one respect your friend is correct. That said, there are two other clubs that have never finished in those positions either - Fulham and Portsmouth. The Cottagers are in their fourth season in the Premiership and have so far registered finishes of 13th, 14th and 9th, while Portsmouth's only Premiership season to date ended in the comfort of mid-table and 13th spot.

DOUBLE SCOTCH
Paul Gallagher and Paul Dickov both scored for Blackburn in their away win over Fulham on the 27th November this year. But can you please tell me when was the last time before this that two Scottish players scored for the same team on the same day in the Premiership?
Niall Hay, Los Angeles
MARTIN SAYS:
What a good question Niall, but one that you don't have to go too far back to discover the date. Obviously there are not as many players from north of the border plying their trade down here as there used to be and Blackburn and Everton were the only two real contenders for the answer. And having used Blackburn and Messrs Dickov and Gallagher as your example Niall, you might be disappointed to find out that it was indeed Blackburn again! And you only have to go back to August 21 this season and the 3-2 defeat at Southampton, when Dickov and Scotland skipper Barry Ferguson were on the scoresheet.

GUNNED DOWN
Hi Martin, I'm an Arsenal fan. I know Chelsea knocked us out of the Champions League last season, but when was the last time they beat us in the league, home or away?
Paul Marne
MARTIN SAYS:
Well, Paul, you do have to go back some way to find the last time the Blues triumphed over your Arsenal side in the league, either home or away. The last time they were victorious at Stamford Bridge came on September 30, 1995, when a solitary goal from Mark Hughes was enough to give them the spoils. As for wins at Highbury, they are even rarer - you have to go back to the pre-Premiership days. The last time Chelsea won at Arsenal in the league was on March 11, 1990, when a rare goal from midfielder John Bumstead gave them a 1-0 win.

CLINICAL KEZMAN
I can't say I've been that impressed with Mateja Kezman's finishing this season. Everybody keeps banging on about his wonderful record in Holland, but exactly what was his record with PSV?
Robert Slater
MARTIN SAYS:
I can only assume this was written before Kezman opened his Premiership account with the most impudent of penalties. I am not sure what his team-mates would have said had he missed, but I think that showed the sort of finishing capabilities he does possess! His record with PSV Eindhoven was quite sensational, because in 112 games he found the net 105 times. He was their top scorer in 2001, 2002, 2003 and 2004. He was also top scorer in the Serbian league with Partizan Belgrade, for whom he scored 34 goals in 60 games over two seasons. His substitute appearance on Saturday was his 18th Chelsea appearance (only six starts) and he has now scored twice, so he does have some catching up to do if he is going to match his goals-per-game ratio with PSV, which was an outstanding 0.7.

ON THE TROPHY TRAIL
Hello, I am a Rangers fan and my favourite English team is Manchester United, I know that Rangers have won 105 Cups but I don't know how Manchester United have won, I know they be too far away, so can you tell how many they won!
Ryan Davidson, Edinburgh
MARTIN SAYS:
As successful as Manchester United have been Ryan, they are in fact some way away from Rangers' remarkable record of 105 trophies. Despite the success under Sir Alex Ferguson, United have won 'just' the 33 trophies compared to Sir Alex's old club. I am only counting the major domestic and European trophies though, Ryan, which does not include the Charity or Community Shield. United have won 15 league titles, eight of them the Premier League, Division Two twice, 11 FA Cups, one League Cup, two European Cups, one European Cup Winners' Cup and one European Super Cup.

UNS-UNG HERO
Hi Martin. Following John Terry's two goals against Charlton, I was wondering if you could tell me who is the highest scoring defender since the Premiership began? Thanks.
Adam Starkey, Stockport
MARTIN SAYS:
That is another very good question Adam, and you might be surprised to find the answer. The obvious goalscoring defenders spring to mind such as Stuart Pearce, Steve Bruce and Denis Irwin, but the defender with an eye for goal is still actually playing - David Unsworth. The Portsmouth man is way out in front of his fellow defenders with 37 goals in his 347 Premiership appearances with Everton, West Ham and now Pompey. Of course, David does take penalties and of his 37, 22 have come from the spot. 12 have also come from dead-ball situations, with only three coming from open play. His best season was the 1999-2000 campaign with Everton, when he scored six times.

LONDON CALLING
I'd like to know how many London teams have already played in the top division so far. And which teams?
Adrian Ducarre, Brentford supporter
MARTIN SAYS:
Well Adrian, I can tell you that all 12 of the current capital clubs have appeared in the top division, be it the old First Division or Premiership, at one time or another in their history - including your beloved Bees! The only other additions to the list could be clubs that are now defunct, but trawling back through the record books I can see none from the capital that are no longer with us - except of course Wimbledon. Here is the complete list, in alphabetical order, of capital clubs that have graced the top flight, from Arsenal to Leyton Orient, who have spent just the one season among English football's elite. Arsenal of course, were technically a Division Two side during World War One, but as there were no games played and they returned to Division One on the resumption of the Football League, they are classed as ever-presents in the top flight.
