Eredivisie round-up

AZ Alkmaar closed the gap on leaders PSV Eindhoven to just two points.

AZ Alkmaar closed the gap on leaders PSV Eindhoven to just two points with an emphatic 5-0 win over Twente Enschede.

AZ continued their rich vein of form this season and never looked in trouble from the moment Martijn Meerdink put them ahead after just six minutes.

They went in two up at the interval following an own-goal from Karim Touzani and Kenneth Perez all but ended the contest just before the hour mark.

Denny Landzaat (pictured) converted a penalty to make it four and Perez notched his second three minutes from time to put a real gloss on the scoreline.

Roda moved into the top half after seeing off RBC Roosendaal by three goals to one.

Cristiano and Arouna Kone had the hosts two up inside the first 24 minutes, but Damien Hertog pulled one back for RBC on the half-hour mark.

Roda survived one or two scares, but Sergio eased their nerves with a third nine minutes from time.

RKC Waalwijk pulled away from the bottom of the table with a much-needed 2-0 win over struggling Den Bosch with Rick Hoogendorp and Jochen Janssen on the score-sheet.

The game between Willem II and Utrecht finished goalless.
