Aliadiere returns to training

Jeremie Aliadiere has returned to training with Arsenal.

Jeremie Aliadiere has returned to training with Arsenal and expects to be in contention for a playing comeback in March.

The young forward has been on the sidelines since picking up an injury in the Community Shield in August.

Aliadiere suffered damage to the cruciate ligament in his right knee, when falling awkwardly, an injury which many felt would end his season before it had started.

However, the 21-year-old has worked hard on his rehabilitation at the French training camp in Clairefontaine and is eyeing a comeback in the spring.

"My knee is better," he told the club's website. "I started running on Monday. It's been from August 26 to Monday. It was a little bit sore but it is getting better.

"I see the boss every day and he asks how my knee is. I hope to be fit for the end of March.

"After that I hope my knee will be good for the rest of the season. I think it will be with the reserves but I hope I can play a part."

Aliadiere is convinced he will return at the peak of his powers, as he added: "It is not that bad. I know I can come back and be stronger. But it is hard in your mind to wait this amount of time and be patient.

"Still I am really determined. I'll be strong and I know I will come back."
