Ono injury fears

Feyenoord face an anxious wait on the seriousness of Shinji Ono's ankle injury.

Feyenoord face an anxious wait on the seriousness of Shinji Ono's ankle injury.

Ono was forced off in a 2-0 defeat to ADO Den Haag, and there are fears that he will need surgery on the problem.

Coach Ruud Gullit has already confessed that he fears that the Japanese star will be missing for a long period.

"Now it is time to handle this problem," said Gullit. "I can't use a player that can play only half a match and sometimes can't play at all."

Ono was stretchered off in the 46th minute of the game, in obvious pain.

Gullit has already admitted that he will be looking to boost his squad in the winter transfer market.
