Roma not for sale
Rosella Sensi has slammed reports that the club is up for sale.
Roma's chief executive Rosella Sensi has slammed reports that the club is up for sale.
Sensi told Italian press that her father, who is the club owner, has no intention of selling.
The club have endured a shameful season going through a string of coaches, a dismal UEFA Champions League campaign, and suffered the ignominy of a Uefa ban for the missile throwing incident involving referee Anders Frisk.
There are also regular rumours that their talismanic captain Francesco Totti (pictured) will be sold, along with hothead Antonio Cassano.
The departure of coach Fabio Capello in the close season to arch rivals Juventus did not help matters either.
Sensi told Italian press: "Is my father thinking of selling? No, no never. Never.
"This club is his life's work and only he has the right to decide what he does with it. It is his destiny; his heritage. Nobody loves Roma more than him."
"Totti and Cassano will stay too because they are two important pawns in our project here. I can't imagine a future without them."
When asked about the departure of Capello for Juve, she said: "Capello is a professional and made his choices, we respect him for that.
"As for Emerson [who also left for Juve] he betrayed us. He wasn't interested in Roma and he didn't respect my father. Selling him gave us pleasure."
Elsewhere in Italy, it was confirmed that Brescia are being eyed by Russian company Severstal. Brescia president, Gino Corioni, explained that :"As yet, I haven't met anybody, but I would listen to any good offer."
