Ronaldo makes Adriano plea

Ronaldo has called for Inter's Adriano to join him at Real Madrid.

Ronaldo has once more risked the wrath of former club Internazionale, by publicly calling for Brazilian team-mate Adriano to join him at Real Madrid.

Adriano has quickly established himself as one of the best players in Serie A, since breaking through at Parma and Inter.

Real star Ronaldo believes that his compatriot would be an ideal signing for the Spanish giants, aiming criticism at Inter's lack of success.

"You can't stay for a long time in a team that doesn't win, are unable to challenge for the title or the (UEFA) Champions League," said Ronaldo.

"Adriano is a great player and if Real are really interested in him then they are not wrong.

"I'd love to play with him at the Bernabeu.

"He is a guy that is focused on football. I'd say his main qualities are his physical presence and a powerful shot.

"He's one of the world's best forwards."

Ronaldo has fast become a villain to the Inter fans who once adored him.

The Brazilian striker was supported by the club, and in particular owner Massimo Moratti, during a recuperation from knee injuries that lasted the best part of two years.

However, soon after making his return, Ronaldo chose to forsake Italian football for a move to Madrid.
