Diouf told to keep it shut

Kevin Nolan has urged El Hadji Diouf to focus his efforts on keeping Bolton up.

Kevin Nolan has urged El Hadji Diouf to keep his mouth shut and focus his efforts on firing Bolton to Premiership survival.

The Senegalese star, on a season-long loan from Liverpool, has courted controversy this term with three separate spitting allegations directed at him.

The latest was made during Bolton's win at Birmingham on Tuesday night, in which he scored, although he has since been cleared of any wrongdoing.

However, it was more unhelpful publicity for the African who has only recently returned from a three-game ban for spitting at Portsmouth's Arjan de Zeeuw.

Team-mate Nolan has now called on Diouf to steer clear of further bother and concentrate on his football.

"He was fantastic and if he can just keep his mouth shut, maybe tape it up before a game, he'll be great for us," the midfielder declared.
