Freddie Ljungberg is hoping Arsenal's past experience will help the Premiership champions to overhaul current leaders Chelsea. The title holders trail their London rivals by seven points after slipping further behind following a draw at home to Manchester City on Tuesday, as Chelsea beat Middlesbrough.
But Swedish midfielder Ljungberg is refusing to be downcast about the situation, holding out hope that The Blues will suffer a much talked about blip.
Ljungberg feels results will eventually go against Jose Mourinho's side and he is anxious for The Gunners to take advantage of any dip by The Blues.
He also believes that Arsenal's experience of being involved in a title race will stand them in good stead while chasing a Chelsea team that have not won the league for 50 years.
"The gap is seven points but we've been in this situation before," said Ljungberg.
"Manchester United have also done it to us on a couple of occasions when we've been leading and they've closed the gap.
"It's just important for us to keep concentrating on our results and then, in the end, hopefully we can pull back the points.
"I still believe Chelsea will drop points. Sometimes they've had luck on their side with some bounces of the ball and then they've scored and come away with the three points.
"Maybe at the end of the season they won't have that luck and will drop some points. Then we can come back into it."
