Sheffield Wednesday are hoping to land loan star Kenwyne Jones on a permanent basis.
Sheffield Wednesday manager Paul Sturrock is hoping to land loan star Kenwyne Jones on a permanent basis.Jones has created a huge impression during his loan spell at Hillsborough from Southampton, scoring in all six of his appearances.
Sturrock signed the Trinidadian for Saints last year but he has not made his debut for the Premiership club.
The young forward was initially expected to extend his loan spell in South Yorkshire to accrue greater first team experience.
But Sturrock has now offered his former club £100,000 to make sure Jones can play a permanent part in The Owls' quest for promotion from League One.
The Owls boss said: "He's done tremendously well for us and it would be great to have him here on a permanent basis."
