Portillo makes Real return
Real Madrid have recalled striker Javier Portillo from Fiorentina.
Real Madrid have moved quickly to fill the void left by Fernando Morientes by recalling Javier Portillo.The youngster had been on a season-long loan at Serie A side Fiorentina in a bid to accrue first-team experience.
However, now that Morientes has sealed his £6.3 million switch the Liverpool, Real were keen to secure a new fourth-string striker.
Fiorentina confirmed Portillo, who netted just once during his time in Italy, had returned to Spain.
"Fiorentina have announced this afternoon that Javier Portillo will return to Real Madrid," read a statement on the club's official website.
