Job unhappy at his lot

Joseph-Desire Job has spelt out his frustration at failing to claim a regular place.

Middlesbrough striker Joseph-Desire Job has spelt out his frustration at failing to hold down a regular place at The Riverside.

The Cameroon star has been linked with a move away from the club because of his lack of action, and feels time spent warming the substitute's bench is hindering his career.

"When you don't play you can't obviously show what you can do on the football pitch," he told Sky Sports News.

"I just want people to judge a player when he plays and not when he doesn't play.

"When you don't play it's very tough, very frustrating.

"I think it's only fair to judge a player when he's on the pitch, not off the pitch."

Boro boss Steve McClaren has made it clear, however, that the striker remains an integral part of his plans and is not prepared to let the hit-man leave.
