Gravesen enjoys debut

Thomas Gravesen was delighted at making his debut for Real Madrid

Gravesen completed his move to Madrid from Everton last week, and got a run-out midway through the second half in a 3-1 win over Real Zaragoza.

"It is a truly fantastic feeling and I am happy and proud," said Gravesen.

"It is a very big day for me and I got a fantastic welcome from the fans - which really helped me.

"I was tense and nervous before the match and didn't really expect to get on the pitch.

"I feel it was a good debut, which was affected by my nerves and the state of the pitch.

"You always get support from the fans on your debut, but from now on I have to show what I am worth."
