Roma banned again

Roma will have to play a Coppa Italia match on a neutral ground.

Roma will have to play a Coppa Italia match on a neutral ground after supporters threw fireworks onto the pitch against Siena.

Play was held up for lengthy spells because of the missiles, and the authorities have come down hard on the club.

It is the second time this season Roma have been forced to play at a neutral venue because of their fans' behaviour - following a high-profile incident in the UEFA Champions League.

Roma will now play their Coppa Italia quarter finals against Fiorentina at an as-yet unnamed stadium on January 26 behind closed doors.

Francesco Totti did attempt to calm the crowd during the match, but found himself the target of abuse and subsequently threatened to leave the club.
