Pablo Thiam looks set to sign a new contract with VFL Wolfsburg.

Pablo Thiam looks set to sign a new contract with in-form Bundesliga outfit VFL Wolfsburg which could seem him end his career with the Wolves.

The 31-year-old, who joined the Volkswagen-Arena outfit from Bayern Munich, has 18 months to go on his current contract, but the club are keen to extend his commitment.

"He's a very, very big figure, who really grew into his leading status," declared new director of sport Thomas Strunz.

The Wolves are believed to be ready to offer the Guinea international a deal until 2008 and the former Stuttgart star seems ready to put pen-to-paper.

"Everything could be settled very quickly and if all details are alright, I can imagine ending my career here," Thiam told Kicker.
