Hierro poised for Rangers

Bolton Wanderers veteran Fernando Hierro is reportedly poised to join Rangers until the end of the season.Hierro has struggled to establish himself in The Premiership since moving to The Reebok Stadium from the Middle East last summer.
The Real Madrid legend signed a one-year contract with The Trotters but, of his 16 league appearances, 12 have been as a substitute.
Last week, Hierro was one of seven players told by Sam Allardyce that he can leave the club as the Bolton boss looks to raise funds for his own recruitment plans.
The 36-year-old was baffled as to why he was being axed by Allardyce after just six months with the North West club.
His availability has now seen him linked with Rangers and the Scottish giants are tipped to sign the versatile Hierro until the campaign's end.
Gers boss Alex McLeish is keen to strengthen his defence after selling Jean-Alain Boumsong to Newcastle United.
Hierro would add valuable experience to the Rangers back-line as they seek to overhaul Old Firm rivals Celtic in the race for the title, while the former Spain international is also adept at playing a holding role in midfield.
Trotters boss Allardyce, though, has yet to be contacted by McLeish, saying: "We haven't heard anything from Rangers."
